Changes and Developments
We're making some big changes at Club Camera Tucson. Competitions will now take place every other month, alternating monthly with member critiques. Critiques are non-judgmental discussions in which members may present their work for comments and suggestions from their colleagues. We hope this offers a supportive, collegial environment for learning and expanding one's skill set.
We've also redefined the categories used in our competition, in the process expanding the scope of both realistic and imaginative subject matter in our images and the extent of software-based post-processing allowed across categories.
You can check out all this on our Competitions & Critiques page.

There is a lot going on in and around Tucson. Check the News and Events and Field Trips pages for details.
Club Camera is now using Score 27 to prepare, score, and track photo competitions. Score 27 greatly increases the efficiency of managing and tracking competitions. We're the second camera club in the country to adopt this cutting-edge software. Please refer to the Submission Guidelines for complete instructions on how to use Score 27.
Club Camera Tucson works hard to meet the varied photographic needs and interests of its members. Feedback consistently indicates that members value opportunities to gain new knowledge and skills, broaden their technical expertise and artistic perspective and share the results of their work—all in a nurturing environment among fellow members who are mutually supportive.
To this end we have two monthly meetings and frequent field trips. Generally, the first meeting of the month is a competition where digital and print submissions are evaluated by outside judges who then engage in discussion with the competitors and the membership in general.
Other opportunities to display and discuss your work include an annual show-and-tell program, member slide show programs, and a salon program where images are presented and discussed by the photographer, followed by a discussion facilitated by an outside professional.
Additional meetings include presentations on photography-related topics and demonstrations of technical skills in which members have shown an interest.
Field trips round out the club’s program. Planned and announced months in advance to allow maximum participation, these events enhance the social experience and foster sharing of techniques among members.
