Club Camera Tucson sponsors field trips in and around southern
Arizona. We go just about anywhere there are interesting photographic
possibilities. It's a great opportunity to socialize, share your
knowledge, learn new stuff and, above all, take pictures.

Field Trip to the Tucson Rodeo
Google 'Tucson Rodeo' for full details about this iconic event. The gate
on 3rd Avenue north of Irvington Road opens at 8 am, which is when we
usually arrive. Parking is free on Tuesday, and the entrance fee is $5.
Once you pass through the east entrance gate, continue on to the arena
fence where we do our shooting. Crowds are light early on Tuesday, and
you'll have no trouble finding club members along the fence. Lighting is
great with the sun at our backs. You'll need at least a 200 mm lens to
catch the action. A monopod is appropriate but a tripod is not unless
you plan to shoot away from people in the grandstand. Events that
morning include barrel racing (which features many women riders) and
calf roping.
Ted Fleming is the nominal trip leader. Please send him an email (ted@sonaura.net)
if you plan to attend this event.

It's Racing Season
While we're not organizing a field trip, we recommend anyone who's interested to go to the races and take photos. Racing happens every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. We'll then collect members' photos and put a slideshow together.
