One of our two monthly meetings is devoted to exploring a single topic. Our programs cover a wide range of subject matter. Many programs feature a guest who is an experienced professional in a specific area. This year, for example, we'll have a wildlife photographer, a desert photographer, and a forensic photographer. One of our more popular programs is club-member slide shows.

If you have topics you'd like to see presented or know someone who you think would be an interesting guest speaker, please contact Bill Lofquist, programs chair.

The Digital Art SIG led by Jim Wertheimer meets on the third Thursday of the month at JCC. The SIG encourages people to come, discuss, and show work that involves any form of digital creativity and tools, ranging from simple Photoshop manipulation intended to improve realistic photos to multi-media creations involving alternative processes. If you think digital art is only exaggerated abstracts you are going to be surprised and pleased.

The basic meeting form has participants critiquing each other's work and discussing the methods used to create it. We are also bringing in outside experts who will discuss a variety of topics related to digital art.

Unless otherwise noted, all meeting take place at the Jewish Community Center and run from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm.

Upcoming Programs & Competitions/Critiques

Program Meeting - February 23: Jim Cowlin

Jim will discuss his project of recent years in which he has been following US Route 89 north through Utah, Idaho, Wyoming and Montana. In his travels, he has also photographed the beautiful places in between. See Jim's work here.
